Guide
Costs and planning, in plain terms.
Pricing is project-specific — two courts that look the same can be very different projects. Here's what shapes the budget and what to check first.

Site & planning
What your site needs.
- 01
Space
A doubles court's playing area is 20m × 10m — the playing area only. The land needed is larger once structure, circulation and access are added. - 02
Ground and drainage
Site investigation decides the base and foundations; surface water needs an appropriate outfall. - 03
Neighbours
Lighting, noise and operating hours often matter most to the planning authority and people nearby. - 04
Indoor and covered
Barns need clear height and a sound structure; canopies need their own structural design and foundations.
Plan for a planning application as part of a new padel development. Confirm the requirements for your particular site with the local planning authority and appointed advisers before committing to works.

Questions we're often asked
What affects the cost most?
Usually the ground, not the court — conditions, levels, drainage, access and distance to power. The court model and any canopy come next.
Can an existing tennis-court base be reused?
Sometimes. It may be retained, adapted or need rebuilding; we assess it before advising.
Can several courts be built, or works phased?
Yes. Courts can share access, drainage and power, and canopies or landscaping can follow later if planned at the start.
Is a roof or canopy priced separately?
Yes — it's bespoke and subject to planning. Roofs & canopies.
